Director, Market Access
The ideal candidate should be well versed in medical device reimbursement across different settings of care including inpatient, outpatient, physician office, and home, as well as be naturally curious and a creative problem solver. He or she should able to facilitate cross-functional groups and be able to develop and deliver and execute on a strategic and tactical plan based on input from both internal and external stakeholders.

Roles and responsibilities:
  • Collaborate and develop relationships with customers and key opinion leaders (KOLs) to create effective channels of communication and gain support in the formation of the value proposition
  • Analyze and compare customer provided and 3rd party data sources to identify trends, risks and opportunities
  • Provide financial modeling of customer impact and inform pricing strategies
  • Oversee and direct consultants in data analysis projects that support value proposition development
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to inform and support the clinical and economic value positions on post market health economic and clinical utility studies
  • Construct new and streamline existing economic and reimbursement related collateral across customer segments and develop tools and training presentations to support field sales teams
  • Conduct commercial and public payer policy research and develop a database of payer policies
  • Monitor relevant federal and state health policy developments and provide meaningful guidance on opportunities and risks for product adoption, and suggest actions to mitigate the risk
  • Respond to public comment opportunities on proposed changes impacting reimbursement and regulations for inpatient and outpatient dialysis
  • Build new and strengthen existing relationships with commercial payers, medical societies, patient advocacy organizations as well as physician and patient thought leaders
  • Identify opportunities for new market development with providers and payers

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Masters degree preferred
  • At least 12 years of experience in U.S. healthcare financing and reimbursement, a strong knowledge of hospital reimbursement and integrated delivery networks is preferred.
  • An understanding of health economics and outcomes research, systematic reviews and the peer review publication process
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate Medicare and other health and cost-related data, including epidemiological data and health outcomes in populations of interest
  • Experience with constructing financial models in Microsoft Excel, and designing net impact models from multiple sources to construct patient-centered views of data, strongly preferred
  • Previous work experience in a similar role in the medical device industry, consulting, or dialysis industry is strongly preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of government and private payer reimbursement in the U.S. markets and understanding of the health care policy
  • Experience working with KOLs, as well as public and private payers
  • Proven experience integrating clinical and business data to assess or compare the direct and indirect impact of clinical interventions or processes on costs
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, creative, strategic, and highly organized
  • Must have excellent writing, qualitative and quantitative analytical, and research skills
  • Proven experience in creating a strategic work plan to set and achieve specific goals
  • Experienced in working with people with diverse backgrounds
  • Must have excellent computer skills and is able to work in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% once things open up
