Position Overview
The Accountant role will be a reliable and precise professional to help us properly maintain our accounts payable information although the job will also include some general ledger responsibilities and assistance with month end and year end close process. The Accountant I will be responsible for receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices as well as processing payments. We are seeking a candidate who can record and assign invoices to the proper cost centers in a timely manner, work with vendors to resolve past due invoices and obtain appropriate internal approvals. The successful candidate will be a strong team player with a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills.


Responsibilities/Functions:
  • Process all invoices in a timely manner, reviewing for appropriate documentation and obtaining appropriate approvals and coding prior to payment
  • Prepare and obtain approval for weekly payment run
  • Resolve purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation
  • Ensure payments and credit notes are applied to invoices in a timely manner
  • Respond to all vendor inquiries
  • Review T&E reports processed and transfer to ERP
  • Maintain fixed asset ledger and prepare depreciation journal entry on a monthly basis
  • Reconcile credit card statement and post monthly journal entry
  • Assist in month end closing including reconciling certain account balances and posting month end journal entries
  • Assist in the year end close and support the year end audit process
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
  • Assist with other projects as needed

Requirements/Qualifications
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • Ability to use Excel required
  • Experience with QAD ERP system a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail, professional attitude, reliable
  • Ability to consistently meet all deadlines
  • Consistently works effectively with supervisors/employees and other departments
  • Remote position, but must be able to visit the San Jose office twice a week for short periods of time in order to deal with any mail, paperwork, occasional manual checks
