Job Summary:
The Healthcare Posting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely posting of all payments received from payers, patients, and other sources. This role requires extensive knowledge of explanation of benefits (EOBs), electronic remittance advice (ERAs), electronic funds transfers (EFTs), lockbox processing, and all aspects of healthcare reimbursement. The Posting Supervisor will ensure compliance with regulatory standards and state and federal payment practices while optimizing payment posting workflows for efficiency and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Payment Posting Oversight:
Supervise and lead the payment posting team in processing payments, adjustments, and denials, ensuring timely and accurate posting to accounts.
Monitor workflows for lockbox processing, EFT, and ERA transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with payer guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Conduct routine audits of posting activities to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, payer requirements, and company policies.
Remain current on regulatory and payer-specific guidelines for payment posting, reimbursement, and utilization management.
Train, mentor, and support the payment posting team, providing guidance on payer guidelines, EOB interpretation, and system usage.
Develop training materials and process documentation to support consistent, high-quality work across the team.
Reporting and Analytics
Generate and analyze payment and adjustment reports to track and improve team performance
Identify trends, issues, and opportunities for process improvement in reimbursement, posting, and denials management.
Collaborate with the Revenue Cycle team, billing, and collections departments to address discrepancies and ensure accurate posting.
Serve as a point of contact for escalations related to payment posting and reimbursement issues.
Qualifications:
Minimum of five years of experience in payment posting, with a strong background in healthcare reimbursement and payer EOBs.
Previous experience in a supervisory or lead role within payment posting or a related revenue cycle function is preferred.
Proficiency in electronic remittance advice (ERA) and electronic funds transfer (EFT) processing.
Familiarity with lockbox operations and payment posting software.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and healthcare billing or revenue cycle software.
In-depth understanding of payer reimbursement, utilization, state and federal regulatory requirements, and payment posting practices.
Knowledgeable about regulatory requirements and compliance practices at state and federal levels.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex posting and reconciliation issues.
Effective communication skills to train team members and collaborate across departments.
Ability to work independently and manage a remote team effectively
The estimated hiring salary range for this position is $65,000-$75,000.* The actual salary will be based on a variety of job-related factors, including geography, skills, education and experience. The range is a good faith estimate and may be modified in the future. This role is also eligible for a range of benefits including medical, dental and 401Kretirement plan.
