Job description

VitalConnect has a leading edge ecosystem consisting of custom-designed vital sign monitoring hardware, a combined hardware and software based data relay, and cloud based observational and analytic tools. We are looking for a talented Software Development Automation Engineer specializing in building and maintaining scalable and easy to use automation frameworks to join our Product Development team. We need a Software Development Automation Engineer who is interested in owning and developing the automation platform while taking an active role in architecting and implementing new technologies to ensure our product quality is of the highest standard.

Scope of Responsibilities

Our customers depend on well-tested medical devices technologies coupled with mobile device applications. You will architect, design, and implement test automation frameworks from the ground up into a continuous integration and execution model. Support and mentor Automation/QA firmware and software engineers in their use of automation tools, drive continuous improvements in tools & processes to achieve a flexible, sustainable and efficient automated test environment.
  • Design, develop and maintain an automation framework to provide continuous quality measurements for our firmware, software releases on both Android/iOS and web services
  • Evolve automated test framework to achieve higher test throughput, increased accessibility and test execution flexibility
  • Update framework to achieve sustainability and maintainability
  • Develop solutions that improve automation engineers’ efficiency and effectiveness in automation test development, execution and troubleshooting
  • Improve the reliability and repeatability of automated testing
  • Support Product Development team in their use of the automation framework and infrastructure
  • Conduct diagnostic analysis and troubleshooting to resolve complex software issues

Required Skills/Experience:
  • Fluent in various object oriented languages and best practices (Python, Ruby, Java)
  • Proficiency with Selenium Web Driver and PyVISA
  • 7+ years with the development of automation/testing tools, 3 out of the 7 years with the design, development and maintenance of automation frameworks
  • Mobile device and Bluetooth technologies and testing practices
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with test automation concepts, practices and procedures
  • Expert in analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving complex issues
  • Strong commitment to product excellence
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal
  • Strong collaboration, teamwork and inter-personal skill
  • BS degree in Computer Sciences or related field (an equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience may be considered)
